Aram Poladian
São Paulo, Brazil
Born in the city of São Paulo, Aram (1997) is part of the third generation of Armenians in Brazil. His first contact with the arts was through animation, games, urban art and later in design school. He works with painting, drawing and muralism, where he incorporates elements of "Armenian identity" into inventive compositions, mixing the real with the symbolic.
"Armenianity" is a term commonly used within the Armenian diaspora to refer to the deep feeling of respect and admiration for the culture of the Armenian people, a feeling that the artist explores in his works. Through the use of national, religious, and tapestry symbols, images are produced that highlight the challenges experienced in metropolises and the contradictions faced by those in the diaspora, offering an updated perspective on how a Brazilian Armenian perceives their own identity.
